Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about FlexiBake — from implementation to compliance.

About FlexiBake
What is FlexiBake?
FlexiBake is ERP software built specifically for recipe-based food manufacturers. It covers production planning, inventory management, lot tracking and traceability, recipe management, nutritional labelling, sales and order management, route-based delivery, food costing, business intelligence, and regulatory compliance — all in one integrated platform. It serves 500+ food manufacturers across 29 countries.
What types of food manufacturers use FlexiBake?
FlexiBake serves wholesale bakeries, confectionery and chocolate makers, frozen food producers, snack manufacturers, dairy and ice cream producers, coffee and beverage companies, and other recipe-based food manufacturing operations. The common thread is recipe-driven production. If your operation runs on formulas, FlexiBake was built for it.
What size of company is FlexiBake designed for?
FlexiBake typically serves food manufacturers with annual revenue from roughly $1M to $30M+. The sweet spot is operations that have outgrown spreadsheets but don't need — or can't afford — an enterprise ERP like SAP or NetSuite.
Is FlexiBake cloud-based or on-premise?
Both. FlexiBake offers full cloud deployment (hosted, managed, automatic updates) and on-premise installation (your servers, your control). The software is identical in both models.
Implementation
How long does implementation take?
Most customers are operational within 4–8 weeks. Implementation includes recipe and product setup, historical data migration, team training, and go-live support. The timeline varies based on modules, recipe complexity, and data volume.
Do we need to shut down operations during implementation?
No. FlexiBake implements alongside your existing processes. Most customers run both systems in parallel for a short period, then cut over once the team is comfortable. There's no downtime and no "big bang" switch.
Will FlexiBake help with data migration?
Yes. FlexiBake's implementation team handles data migration — recipes, products, customers, suppliers, and inventory. They've done this hundreds of times specifically for food manufacturers.
What training is provided?
FlexiBake provides hands-on training during implementation, typically role-based: production staff learn production workflows, office staff learn order entry and reporting, managers learn dashboards and configuration. Ongoing training and support are included.
Pricing & Contracts
How is FlexiBake priced?
FlexiBake's pricing is based on the modules you use and the scale of your operation. There are no per-user seat fees, no hidden costs, and no surprise charges after implementation. See pricing details.
Is there a long-term contract?
Contact our sales team for current contract terms. FlexiBake's 7+ year average customer tenure suggests that customers stay because the software works, not because of contractual lock-in.
Is there a free trial?
FlexiBake currently offers personalised demos tailored to your operation. Book a demo.
Technical
What technology is FlexiBake built on?
FlexiBake is being rebuilt on a modern stack: React (frontend), Django (backend), and PostgreSQL (database). The new platform retains 25 years of food manufacturing domain logic while delivering a modern user experience.
Does FlexiBake integrate with other systems?
Yes. FlexiBake integrates with accounting systems, e-commerce platforms, EDI trading partners, and other third-party tools. Common integrations include QuickBooks, Sage, Shopify, and EDI for retail customers.
Is my data secure?
FlexiBake takes data security seriously. Cloud deployments include encryption in transit and at rest, regular backups, and access controls. On-premise deployments give you full control. See security details.
Compliance & Regulatory
Does FlexiBake support FSMA 204 compliance?
Yes. FlexiBake captures Key Data Elements (KDEs) at every Critical Tracking Event (CTE) as part of normal receiving, production, and shipping workflows. Full forward-and-backward lot tracing can be completed in minutes.
Does FlexiBake support HACCP, SQF, and BRC audits?
Yes. FlexiBake maintains digital batch records, traceability data, and production documentation that supports HACCP, SQF, BRC, and other food safety audit requirements. The records are generated as a byproduct of running your operation.
How does allergen tracking work?
Allergen data is stored at the ingredient level for all major allergens under FALCPA. FlexiBake generates "Contains" statements and cross-contact warnings from recipe ingredient data. When recipes or suppliers change, allergen declarations update automatically.
